Camp Fire

By Nya M.
Submitted image for project, Camp Fire
My cartoon "Camp Fire" is about the fires in California and how it seems like every season is fire season now. "Camp Fire" specifically talks about the fires caused by companies like PG&E. Even if companies like PG&E are doing something now, why didn't they stop the fires before they even happened? Why didn't they do their job?

Producer Statement

I chose this issue because I'm very interested in it. It interests me because it affects California. In the sketching and design process, I learned about ways to show an issue by drawing. For example, if you want to talk about climate change you could draw a person roasting a marshmallow over a forest fire. To them, a forest fire is as normal as a campfire. With my final design, I want people to know that PG&E could have prevented the fires they caused before they even started.
